I am a strong believer in the integration of a website with social media sites and the use of HTML marketing. Social media often feeds into the discovery of new content such as news stories, and “discovery” is a search activity. Social media can also help build additional links that in turn support SEO (Search Engine Optimization) efforts. Many people also perform searches at social media sites to find social media content, so potential customers and/or followers may have discovered you only through a site such as Twitter. Social connections may also impact the relevancy of some search results, either within a social media network or at a ‘mainstream’ search engine.
While their may not be an interest, or resources to participate in ‘conversations’ via a social application such as Twitter or Instagram, using them as marketing tools is always a recommendation. Interaction isn’t always a requirement, but participation in the form of a post or announcement is a very simple task, is not time consuming and serves as a great way to market your name, your business and/or a product or announcement.
With any message in place, the task is the ‘delivery’. I work with all media, from print to electronic, but highly promote the use of email marketing campaigns. Design and delivery of targeted content, tracking results are just two of the many features of an email marketing that is integrated with the website. Announcements, embedded QR codes, embedded links, Ecommerce options are all available options built into a full color email message. A much less expensive solution to print media, once the subscriber list has been established.
